Dennis shares what the late elders passed on to him and how to live by those ways. Dennis expresses how happy he is to be a grandfather and a great grandfather. He is honored to be asked to participate in the project of language keepers. Dennis is humble and expresses that he is a just a man that lives a simple way of life.

Dennis Kayseas is an active community member of Fishing Lake First Nation and is proud to practice his traditional teachings and speak his fluent Saulteaux language. He was born and raised in his community and is the youngest of 8 siblings. Dennis was raised in a strict family environment that encouraged work, education, and community. Dennis also prides himself as being a “Jack of all trades”. During his construction career, he has built many houses for families on Fishing Lake First Nation, including his own. When he is not building or maintaining houses in the community, Dennis has a passion for vehicles and enjoys rebuilding them and being a mechanic.
Dennis has 16 grandchildren and 8 great grand children and is happily married to his wife Annette of 41 years.
